Rupert
Hardworking Lib Dem for Oxted South
Rupert has called Oxted home since 2018, when he and his husband moved to the area in search of green space, community spirit, and a place to put down roots. They found all three—and haven’t looked back since.
Originally from Ireland, Rupert studied Ancient History & Archaeology at Trinity College Dublin and went on to qualify as a solicitor. He now works in financial services, bringing a strategic mindset and a calm, solutions-focused approach to everything he does.
Rupert is standing for election because he cares deeply about the future of Oxted. He wants to see a community that works for everyone—young families, retirees, local workers and small businesses alike. That means protecting our local environment, backing sustainable growth, and ensuring that our local services are strong, accessible, and fit for the future.
Rupert believes the Liberal Democrats offer a compassionate and competent alternative—focused on local priorities, not national point-scoring. For him, this campaign is about listening, being present, and giving Oxted South a voice that truly reflects the whole community.
The Leader of the Liberal Democrat group on Tandridge District Council, Jeffrey Gray, adds:
“It would be great to have Rupert as part of our team representing you on the District Council.
